Ivory Isis Herbals Website Redesign
Established a sleeker website with better branding for my small herbal product business, Ivory Isis Herbals.

Ivory Isis Herbals
Ivory Isis Herbals needed a website redesign.
My initial design was old-fashioned but informative, yet, I thought I could do better. I tried a couple of different designs, but I felt like something was missing.
My original designs are catalogued below, at the bottom of the page.
This should give you some perspective of how far I came in the design of this website!
Demographic and Designs
Clients
The clients for Ivory Isis Herbals are typically women, ages 30 - 55.
I chose floral designs that included women in the images for the site, and stuck to greens and neutral colors in the redesign.
Minimalism
I wanted to make the site easy-to-read and access for someone who needed information quickly. I thought this was especially applicable for users who will mostly access the site from their phone to quickly look up information.
Since most of my products are sold in local businesses in Kansas City, I made sure this was the most prominent page on the site.
Products
Eventually I’ll have a store on the website. For the moment, I put a few products front and center on the site, so that potential customers can get a good idea of what I sell. I chose some very visually pleasing photos for a noticeable focal point.
Values
One component that sets me apart from other small businesses is my focus on high quality ingredients and little details regarding how I make my products, including the slower method infusion process that I use for my herbal oils, which captures high quality constituents in my products. I also made this another key focal point on the site, so it’s easy to see why customers should choose my products.

Art Nouveau Site Design
Thoughts
For my second site redesign, I wanted to create a natural feel for the site and experimented with Art Nouveau designs. I used generative AI to create an art nouveau header and a main site image. I was able to use different word combinations to give me successful results. One of the ones I used for the main images was “herbal women working art nouveau” which resulted in a very nice image. I believe that the site was nice to look at, but ultimately the design elements started to become distracting from the information on the site. I felt like it would weigh down a mobile user’s experience on the site.
Ultimately, Wix proved to be a less-than-ideal web host. I explored SquareSpace and decided that this would be a better host, with better minimalistic design options.
Floral Site Design
Thoughts
For my first site design, I started out with Wix, and I was captivated by some of their dynamic backgrounds that contained floral motifs. I thought they would be perfect for my business. This was before I studied UI and UX Design, and I was still working through my mentality of designing websites on Geocities and Yahoo. (Yes - I have designed websites for that long!)
Eventually, after taking further UX design courses through Google and Uxcel, I started to feel like the site design looked too old-fashioned and was not dynamic enough. While I still enjoyed the floral motifs, I decided it was time for a site redesign from the ground-up.
